The Sale: The Fight

Updated: Mar 15

The Hardest Part: Setting Up and Asking for the SaleAt first, this is one of the trickiest parts. It’s all about setting up your offer and asking for the sale. People often don’t recognize when it’s time to stop selling and simply ask, like, “It’s $50, how do you want to pay?” The act of asking for money can be a phobia for many—and this is the kind of thing that can seriously impact your bank account if not addressed.

If you’ve done your profile and posts correctly, by the time someone contacts you, 9 times out of 10, they are a buyer. Your job is to get to the sale, not engage in long, pointless, unpaid conversations.

Attracting Buyers with KindnessYou attract more bees with honey—treat everyone who contacts you with kindness and respect until other agreements are made. If your profile is set up properly, you can easily tell cold DMs, “Please read my page. If you think we’re compatible, let me know.” This ensures they know what you offer, how they can get it, and your communication rules before reaching out. It’s like half your job is already done!

Discussing Prices and CommunicationOnce someone understands what you offer and how to get it, it’s time to communicate with them through a simpler app, like Kik. This is the point where you’ll discuss prices.

Know Your Limits and PricesKnow your limits and stick to your prices. Always take payment upfront. Never give out samples or examples of your work before payment is received. Once the payment is made, you fulfill the order as agreed.

Caring for Your CustomersOnce someone buys from you, they have the potential to be a repeat customer, so make sure to treat them well and maintain professionalism. Happy clients will keep coming back!

Learn to Read CuesPay attention to how people communicate with you. If they call you “goddess,” they may be submissive, so adjust your approach accordingly. Recognizing these cues will help you cater to your customers' needs better and increase your chances of making a sale.
